Recent Ministry Flight

JBYM Flight from Paul Jones on Vimeo.

As I have been actively working toward establishing air ambulance service here in Northern Guatemala, I have also been doing quite a bit of flying in support of other mission organizations. One of those is Jungle Breezes Youth Ministries (JBYM). JBYM is a new ministry in Northern Guatemala. The founder has lived almost his entire life here in Northern Guatemala, raised as a missionary kid and continuing to do ministry here. God has encouraged he and his family to start this new ministry to better the lives of young Guatemalan men, and in doing so, point them to the hope found in Jesus Christ. JBYM is in the development stage, and currently has two support families living on the property in a very remote area. They are preparing the property to begin service soon. The property is in a very remote area of the country, disconnected from everything including basic utilities and medical facilities. The nearest town is an hour and a half boat ride or a three hour truck ride away. This town is small and only has a basic national hospital. They are located 5 hours away from my town with more access to supplies and better medical care. Furthermore, they are located 15 hours drive from the capitol, Guatemala City. Needless to say, when teams, personnel, and supplies need to come from the capitol, it is a huge effort. The airplane cuts this travel down to 30 minutes from my town and 90 minutes from the capitol. Thanks to the ministry of Missionary Air Group, JBYM staff now have far better access to basic needs such as modern medical care and emergency evacuation flights.
