Journal Video #7 Dec. 18th 2008

Video Journal #7 Dec. 18th 2008 from Paul Jones on Vimeo.

I am learning the valuable skill of performing an annual inspection on an aircraft. Every aircraft must be thoroughly inspected at least once per year. Every critical system and component is checked for discrepancies and general wear and tear. Normal servicing is performed and discrepancies are fixed. This aircraft is owned by my team leaders father-in-law. It comes from Zimbabwe and after inspection will be sold. Some of the profits of the sale will go to benefit MMS. This has been an awesome opportunity to experience new procedures.

Dale's greeting reminded me of this.

Overheard on the radio from a United pilot-
ATC: "United 123 say speed."
UN 123: "speed"
ATC: "United 123 say speed."
UN 123: "speed"
(pause)
ATC: "United 123 say violation."
UN 123: "250 knots, what do you need?"
