One of the purposes of MMS is to prepare "People" for worldwide mission service. Once a month the training staff gathers to discuss important details of the training environment at MMS. In an effort to enhance the instruction offered by the training staff, we are presenting the material found in the Aviation Instructor's Handbook to the training staff. This handbook is published by the Federal Aviation Administration. It contains key fundamentals used in teaching properly. Here is a creative video used to highlight key concepts from the first chapter of the handbook.

Hello From Guatemala

As you may already know from my most recent newsletter, I accepted a full Time position with Missionary Air Group(MAG). I will begin next spring after the completion of my apprenticeship at MMS Aviation. I will be serving as Pilot/Mechanic as well as Program Director for the Guatemala field program. I will be based in Northern Guatemala and serve the people there by Showing Christ's love through providing emergency medical flights out of very remote ares.

Here is a note for the Kids at Grace Point Community Church as well as all those who have responded to God's call to be part of this ministry along side me.

This is a video of the Lutheran Association Of Missionaries and Pilots (LAMP) project I have been working on for the past several months. This video documents the first run of the engines after installing them on the airplane. MMS Human Resources Director, Kieth Dodson, put the video together.

A local Fly-In held every year just 15 miles away from Coshocton. Hundreds of people and more than 40 planes showed up this year. Good times! I went up in a De Havilland Chipmunk aerobatic plane that MMS had restored several years ago. The plane had been in an accident and was a donation to us. MMS fixed it up, and sold it to a local pilot. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take it for a spin with the owner! Literally!

One of the beautiful sunsets God has created! I set my camera in the grass and let it do it's thing - capturing 850 pictures over 30 minutes. I wove them together to make this time lapse video. 30 minutes of sunset in 30 seconds!

Here are the journal videos I shot While on my recent Rapid Response trip to Gabon, Africa. Three of us went to dissasemble a missionary airplane significantly damaged in a recent crash. We put the plane in a shipping container and it should be on a ship bound for the US. We expect the plane to arrive at MMS in a month or two. At that point we will spend approx. a year restoring the aircraft so it can serve on the African mission field once again.

I had intended to post these videos while in Africa, but as you can imagine the internet conection was poor. So here they are. Feel free to get an idea of what my time was like on this unique trip.
